In the final, Laval dumped Bishop’s 71-55. The Gaiters took a 34-30 lead at the half but collapsed down the stretch as the host Rouge et Or prevailed. Bishop’s took a 19-15 lead after one quarter and a 34-30 lead after twenty minutes while holding their rivals to only 11 field goals on the half. But Bishop’s dream of returning to the National Championships as they did in 2004 was ruined by a second half in which the home team outscored the visiting Gaiters 41-21. Turnovers proved to be the difference maker in the second half as the Gaiters turned the ball over seven times in the third quarter and nine times in the fourth quarter after committing only 8 first-half turnovers. After watching Laval quickly turn a six-point deficit into a five-point lead in the third quarter, the Gaiters closed the score to 43-42 with 2:39 remaining in the third quarter. That was as close as the Gaiters would get however as the Rouge et Or proceeded to go on a six-point run. Bishop’s was also plagued by foul trouble as League MVP Laure Pitfield was forced to sit out part of the third quarter after picking up a fourth personal foul. Pitfield would return briefly in the fourth quarter before fouling out. It was all Laval in the fourth quarter, as the Rouge et Or built a comfortable lead and the Gaiters proved unable to penetrate to the basket.
