Basketball coaches are always exhorting players to win one for history. But record keeping in Canada is nothing short of abysmal. This is a decades-long, doubtless crazed, endeavour to redress that. It is by no means complete and likely fraught with misspellings (old papers often spelled a name two or three different ways, even within the same story). My apologies if you are the victim of such happenstance, or of the indifference of editors toward the game, which has led to some of the deficiencies. It is a total mystery to me why all basketball stories aren’t the stuff of the front page.
