In the sudden death semi-final, Bishop’s upset Concordia 51-42. “When it came down to crunch time, we couldn’t buy a basket,” Concordia coach Keith Pruden, whose team had twice beaten Bishop’s in the regular season, told the Montreal Gazette. “We cut it down to three with six minutes left but after that, the rim had a lid on it. We missed easily four or five 14-footers. We’re disappointed. The kids played hard. We just missed too many shots and layups tonight.” Julie Rodrigue led Bishop’s with 14 points and 4 rebounds. Bishop’s had a 34-23 lead at the half. Sharolyn Higgs and Catherine Charbonneau added 12 and 11 points, respectively for the Gaiters. Marie-Pier Veilleux led Concordia with 10 points and four boards.
In the final, Laval defeated Bishop’s 82—50 as 6-0 rookie centre Josee Lalonde scored 21. League MVP Isabelle Grenier added 16 and 8 boards.
