I’ve been here, seen it all, been through it all. … We know everything kind of starts from defence and then it’s a bit harder to score on offence. So that’s what we harp on in practice. That’s our engine, it’s our defence for sure.” Bold coach Carly Clarke said “for her (Nichols) to have that game today, just exemplifies who she is as a player but even more so as a person.She’s really had to battle to get here and I get a little emotional talking about her, honestly because I’m just so proud of her. … We made a bunch of shots today, but that’s not always gonna happen. Bold coach Carly Clarke said “we talked about protecting home court…we haven’t lost at home, all regular season or playoffs. The crowd today was really positive. They helped give us some momentum and it was really meaningful to get this one here.” Clarke added that the Bold’s full-court pressure yielded a host of dividends, as it “has always been a part of our team identity while I’ve been here at TMU,” said Clarke, “but there are so many people [on the Bold roster] that can just be so disruptive individually, and you saw those impacts today.” The Bold’s Myriam Kone said that when racing down the floor in transition, she sees “nobody. It’s just me and the rim. That’s all I see, and I’m just trying to either get a foul or get a score, and find the best advantage for us as well.
