Toronto whipped Brock 76-51. Badgers coach Chris Critelli told the St. Catharines Standard that “we didn’t play as well as we could have. Laurentian dumped Windsor 60-45. The Lancers (coached by Joanne MacLean) included Heather Quick, Christine Nugent, Karen McCulla, Georgie Grant, Wendy Langley, Danielle Bottineau, Nancy Gyurcsik, Lisa White, Nicole Miller, Kelli Norris, Mercedes Preszcator, Dana McCullough, Chris Nugent, Leslie Daniels and Lesley Daniels.
In the last quarterfinal, Lakehead edged Queen’s 73-72 as Michelle Black collected a long pass from post Jenny Burgess to bank in the winner at the buzzer. Patty Johnson led Lakehead with 21. The Thunderwolves led 37-36 at the half. Vicki Wilson paced the Golden Gaels with 26. Jaylene Morrison added 13 and Tanya McIntyre 12. Gaels coach Dave Wilson told the Kingston Whig-Standard that “the ball sat on the rim for an awful long time and I watched our season go by.” The Golden Gaels (coached by Dave Wilson, assisted by Tim Orpin and Janet Swords) also included Ginger Howell, Erica Hollingdrake, Ainsley Geddes, Leigh Chalmers, Stephanie Jamieson, Kim Spence, Jennie Laughton, Kristine Greenlaw, Trina Rasmussen.
In the semis, Laurentian stomped Lakehead 75-47.
In the other semi, Toronto defeated Western 58-47.
In the bronze medal match, Western whipped Lakehead 74-58 as Michelle Mommersteeg scored 29. In the final, Laurentian defeated Toronto 70-63 as Dianne Norman scored 20. Denise Scott led Toronto with 26.
