The Ridgebacks led 19-16 after one quarter and 31-28 at the half. The Gaels led 40-39 after three quarters. Gael guard Ollie Engen hit a baseline floater to give Queen’s a three-point lead in the fourth quarter. Luka Syllas found Malcolm Bailey for an alley-up lay-up and then drilled a trey to extend the lead to 6. Syllas set up Engen for a runout but the Ridgebacks clawed back within one. A.J. Cummings nailed a trey to give the Gaels a 4-point lead with 2:15 to play. Ontario Tech rallied to a one-point lead but Syllas drove the baseline for an and-one as the Gaels regained the lead and held on for the win. Gaels assistant John Curcio said “that’s just basketball. Some nights the shots don’t fall, but we were great on the boards and defensively held them to 62 points.        In the final, the top-seeded Ottawa Gee-Gees defeated the 3rd-seeded Queen’s Gaels 95-87. The Gaels led 28-15 after one quarter after notching a 13-0 run, and 47-40 at the half. The score was knotted at 64 after three quarters. The Gee-Gees Justin Ndjock-Tadjore, who was chosen player of the game, said “it’s really special. Winning this with the guys you’ve been grinding with the whole season is an amazing feeling.” Gee-Gees guard Dragan Stajic said “I don’t have the words to describe what I’m feeling right now, super grateful and blessed, it’s a dream come true. From the first day I stepped on campus, you dream of moments like this, to win an OUA Championship against a rival at Montpetit, it’s a story book ending.” Gee-Gees coach James Derouin said “it’s amazing … a lot of emotions, cutting down your own net. Sometimes you want to go into the other team’s gym and cut down their net, like the women’s team did tonight which was so special.        After the season, Wilfrid Laurier coach Justin Serresse announced that he would not be returning from his one-year sabbatical as he was agreeing to a contract extension as an assistant coach with the NBA G League’s Raptors 905. Serresse coached the Golden Hawks for seven seasons, amassing a 127-92 record.
