In the OSLIAA final, Carleton defeated Loyola 55-49 to take its first ever title. Leading 26-22 at the half, Carleton maintained a health margin to the final buzzer. Loyola scored 17 field goals to Carleton’s 13 but the Ravens dominated the line, hitting 29-41 as compared to Loyola’s 15-33. George House’s defensive play was cited as the difference in the contest. Bob McAskin paced the Ravens with 14. Bob Nourse added 11, Ernie Zoppa 8, Doug Hunter 8, George House 7 Bob Laughton 5 and Jim Fennessy 2, while Bill Harback, Ross Jackson, Doug Rourke, Connie Poulin and Ron McFadden were scoreless.
