But Peewee Chandler hit a field goal and two free throws in the final five seconds to force overtime. Ike Sutton and Unk Durham hit buckets to open the extra session but Hutchison and Currie responded for Toronto. Durham hit for Queen’s and then Hutchison responded for Toronto before Ike Sutton hit the winning free throw. …………………………………………………… Host Western defeated Queen’s 19-18 despite trailing 15-9 at the half. After the season was over, Queen’s protested that McGill and Toronto had unilaterally adopted a four-year eligibility rule. As a trade-off, the Presbyterians eventually negotiated a deal limiting players to participating in one senior sport during an athletic season. The former rule appears to have quickly and dutifully ignored.
