In doing so, they ran into foul trouble,” Cochran noted. Winnipeg coach Tom Kendall said his troops loosened up in the second half. “We thought our game plan was going good in the first half. We just weren’t hitting from the perimeter. In the second half, we loosened up and got some shooting from (Deb) Belinsky. … We tried to stay out of foul trouble. That was part of our game plan — we didn’t want to crash the boards. …. Once we started shooting, they came out on us. That made things easier for Cochran. I thought they played really well. They were hitting shots from the perimeter — shots that we gave them thinking they couldn’t make them.”
