In the finals, Winnipeg defeated Lakehead 78-63; 64-41 (2g-0).
In game one, Winnipeg prevailed 78-63 as Donna Posnick scored 28 and Debbie Steele 22. Sandi Hummel paced Lakehead with 14.
In game two, Winnipeg thrashed Lakehead 64-41 after taking a 28-20 lead at the half. Coach Tom Kendall “told us to get the boards in the final half,” said Debbie Steele, who finished with 20 points and 21 rebounds. “I was nervous and really emotional. It was to be my last game in a Wesmen uniform at Riddell Hall and I wanted it to be a good game for me and for the team.” Donna Posnick added 25 points and five rebounds for Winnipeg, while Moira Pennycock tossed in 10. Winnipeg outshot Lakehead .390 (28-72) from the floor to .210 (18-85), while out-rebounding the Norwesters 45-37.
