In the decisive match between UBC and Alberta, the Thunderbirds rip off a 6-0 run in final minutes to salt away the 31-22 victory. UBC led 10-4 after one quarter, 14-8 at the half and 20-16 at the three-quarter mark. Diane Beach led UBC with 12. Leitner added 8, Anne Lindsay 6, Marilyn Peterson 3 and Walker 2. Judy Urch led Alberta with 7. The T-Birds were competing in the league for the first time and were coached by Marnie Summers, a former member of the Vancouver Eilers national senior A champs.
