The annual women’s weekend (in which several sports are contested) was held in Winnipeg.
In the round robin tourney, Saskatchewan defeated Manitoba 50-49.
Alberta dumped Saskatchewan 48-37 as Connie Horeak scored 26, Marlene Moseley 5, Lorraine Adams 5, Mona McLaughlin 4, Nora Olson 3, Doreen West 3 and Betty Fisher 2. Alberta led 25-18 at the half. Benson paced Saskatchewan with 14. Jasper added 9, Diane Thompson 7, Davies 3, Currie 2 and Hay 2.
Alberta clipped Manitoba 47-35 as Connie Horeak scored 20, Marlene Moseley 15, Nora Olson 4, Mona McLaughlin 4, Doreen West 2 and Betty Fisher 2. Abercrombie and Sjoberg each scored 6 to pace Manitoba. Dangerfield added 5, Horkoff 5, Ormiston 5, Rose 3, Mitchell 3, Doope 2 and McCullagh 2.
