In a round robin tourney with Saskatchewan and Manitoba, host Alberta wins both games in close contests. Top point getter in the series was first year physical education student Connie Horeak.
Alberta defeated Manitoba 58-36. Connie Horeak paced the Pandas with 16. Joan McFarlane added 14, Marg Visser 6, Jane Robinson 4, Nora Olson 3, Betty Lepper 2, Gail Evans 1 and Joyce Mattson 1. Lois Miles paced the Bisonettes with 14. Joan Abercrombie added 6, Avonne Harkoff 5, Janette Avery 4, Sally Dangerfield 3, Annie Lou Ormiston 2, Garda Schell 2 and Agnes Loader 1.
Saskatchewan clipped Manitoba 48-34.
Alberta defeated Saskatchewan 57-50. The Huskies led 9-8 after one quarter and the teams traded the lead until the final quarter, when Joan McFarlane hit a series of critical buckets down the stretch as Alberta pulled away. Connie Horeak paced Alberta with 22. Joan MacFarlane added 15, Marg Visser 12 and Nora Olson 3. Donalda Clarke paced Saskatchewan with 19. Arlene Slowchuk added 12, Arlene Raycroft 9, Diane Thompson 7, Henrietta McKay 2 and Pat Henley 1.
