In the opener, Victoria romped to a 109-81 win as Ted Anderson scored 25, Gerald Kazanowski 21, Kelly Dukeshire 17, Eli Pasquale 14, Bruce Hamilton 7, Dan Brosseuk 6, Greg Kazanowski 6, Craig Higgins 4, Ryan Burles 3, Quinn Groenhyde 2, Jim Larson 2 and Kevin Dancs 2. Steve Atkin led Calgary with 39. Karl Tilleman added 15, Mike Buckrop 14, John Rhodin 7, Scott Sisson 2 and Mark Kolodzeij 2, while Tim Meagher, Jeff Markert, Murray Goddard and Mark Pekar were scoreless. Dinos forward Jeff Markert told The Gauntlet that the game was “unbelievable, they killed us. Dinosaurs coach Gary Howard said “they played just great. They were men among boys.”

In game two, Victoria blasted Calgary 125-76 as rookie Quinn Groenheyde scored 21, Ted Anderson 20, Gerald Kazanowski 18, Bruce Hamilton 16, Eli Pasquale 11, Greg Kazanowski 9, Ryan Burles 9, Dan Brosseuk 6, Craig Higgins 4, Jim Larson 4, Kelly Dukeshire 4 and Kevin Dancs 3. Steve Atkin led the Dinosaurs with 24. Mike Buckrop added 18, Karl Tilleman 14, Mark Kolodzeij 8, Murray Godderd 4, Mark Pekar 4, Tim Meagher 2 and Jeff Markert 2, while John Rhodin and Scott Sisson were scoreless. Dinosaurs coach Gary Howard told The Gauntlet that “it was a team loss and a rotten way to 2nd a good season. They were the two worst losses I can remember. … Victoria is a great ball club and they really stuck it to us, they’re my pick to win it all.”
