In Alberta, the Bears knock off Manitoba 71-70 in overtime as Don Munro scored 26, Al Tollestrup 18 and Ed Cook 10. Jim Wright led the Bisons with 28. Don Smith added 15 and Dick Herbertson 10. The Bisons played the last three minutes of regulation and all of overtime with just four players because the remainder had fouled out.         Alberta won the first of its four games against Saskatchewan 54-47 as Al Tollestrup scored 19, Ron Ghitter 14 and Don Munro 10. Bob Upton paced Saskatchewan with 13. Lorne Doane added 8 and Gord Kerr 7. Alberta took a three point lead and while Dave Smith hit a pair of free throws for the Bisons, the Bears hung on for the win. Don Munro led Alberta with 26. The Bisons led 34-16 at the half and while Alberta rallied within two with minutes to play, the Bisons again turned on the jets and pulled away down the stretch.
