Saskatchewan defeats Alberta 49-32 and 35-33 in two games played at the Normal Gym in Edmonton.

        In game one, Saskatchewan prevailed 49-32. The Huskies broke to an early seven point lead but point guard Sammy Sheckter rallied Alberta by finding Al Manifold in the paint and the Bears took a 19-17 lead at the half. Con Fitzgerald took command in the second half. Conrad Fitzgerald paced the Huskies with 17. Charlie Fewster added 8, Alex Yaremchuk 8, Lewis MacFarland 6, Les Williams 5 and Bud Carson 5, while George Green, Chuck Lockwood, Jerry Fodey and Harrington were scoreless. Jack Switzer paced the Bears with 11. Sammy Sheckter added 7, Fergie 5, John McInnis 6 and Steed 2, while Al Manifold, Phil Proctor, Nishio, James and Patching were scoreless.

        In game two, Saskatchewan nipped Alberta 35-33. The Bears led 11-8 after one quarter and 19-13 at the half as Al Manifold dominated the paint. The Huskies rallied to knot the score at 28 after three quarters and Alberta coach Gordie Ferguson orders his troops to stall. A collision with Conrad Fitzgerald sent an Alberta ballhandler to the sidelines and Huskie Jerry Fodey to the line, where he hit the free throw. Chuck Fewster added an insurance bucket and Saskatchewan pulled out the win. Conrad Fitzgerald paced the Huskies with 14. Charlie Fewster added 8, Yaremchuk 4, Williams 4, Green 2, McFarland 2 and Lockwood 1, while Carson, Fodey and Harrington were scoreless. Al Manifold paced the Bears with 9. Sammy Sheckter added 8, John McInnis 5, Jack Switzer 5, Steed 3, Phil Proctor 2 and Fergie 1, while Patching and Nishio were scoreless.
