He finished 27 points. Saskatchewan appeared in command when Bison star post Alex Nitchuk (who was chosen MVP of the tournament) was forced to the bench with four fouls midway through the second half. But Dobusch hit two long bombs. The Bisons added another and then recovered with three minutes to play, holding until the final buzzer. …………………………………………………… Alberta edged Saskatchewan 32-24. The Huskies front line of Miller, McGuire and Macmillan shot the ball poorly. Merton Keel, Bill Pullishy and Bill Shandro dominated for the Bears. Merton Keel and McBeth each scored 10 to pace the Bears. Shandro added 6, Bill Pullishy 6, Saddington 4 and Royce Craig 2, while Buzz Fenerty and McBeth were scoreless. McMillan and Maguire each scored 7 to pace the Huskies. Millar added 6, Gratias 3 and Shaw 2, while Hopkins, Urquhart and Graham were scoreless. …………………………………………………… Manitoba defeated Alberta 43-28 as Alex Nitchuk scored 20. Pete Dobush dominated on defence, while Walkley and Carrick controlled the boards. Manitoba led 24-13 at the half. Carrick added 12, Walkley 8 and Ahoff 8, while Pete Dobush, Proudfoot, Furnival, Johnston, Wright, Gerry and Hopper were scoreless. Shandro paced Alberta with 10. Fenerty added 9, Keel 4, Bill Pullishy 3, Saddington 1 and Carscallen 1, while McBeth and Craig were scoreless.
