        In the quarterfinals, the 5th-seeded Dalhousie Tigers edged the 4th-seeded Memorial Sea-hawks 70-64. The first half featured seven lead changes and 6 ties. The score was knotted at 10 after one quarter. Memorial led 34-31 at the half. Megan Robinson drained three from the beyond the arc as the Sea-Hawks took an 8-point lead early in the second half. But the Tigers rallied to within 56-42 after three quarters. The Sea-Hawks countered with a 7-1 run but the Tigers had the answers down the stretch. Courtney Thompson paced Dalhousie with 22 on 9-19 from the floor, 0-3 from the arc, 4-4 from the line, 5 boards, 5 assists and 3 steals. Robbi Daley added 17 on 8-13 from the floor, 1-4 from the arc, 0-1 from the line, 5 boards and 4 assists.         In the other quarterfinal, the host 6th-seeded UPEI Panthers stunned the 3rd-seeded Cape Breton Capers 67-56. The Panthers built a 15-11 lead after one quarter on the attacking drives of Danielle MacDonald. Amy Gough and MacDonald converted on back-to-back and ones, extending the lead to double digits early in the second quarter before the Capers rallied within 34-27 at the half. The Panthers built their lead to 17 in the third quarter before the Capers again cut the margin to 51-41 after three quarters. But the Capers remained unable to stop UPEI from getting to the rim and saw themselves trailing by 15 early in the fourth quarter. Gough was chosen player of the game. Amy Gough paced the Panthers with 2 6on 5-12 from the floor, 1-3 from the arc, 15-17 from the line, 10 boards, 6 assists and 2 blocks.         In the semis, the top-seeded Saint Mary’s Huskies clocked the 5th-seeded Dalhousie Tigers 73-53. The perimeter shooting of Rachelle Coward and post play of Justine Colley led the Huskies to a 20-14 lead after one quarter as the only Tiger to muster a consistent attack was Courtney Thompson. The Huskies kept draining treys as they built a 37-21 lead at the half and maintained a 53-39 edged after three quarters. Colley was chosen player of the game for the Huskies, while Thompson earned the laurels for the Tigers. Rachelle Coward paced the Huskies with 20 on 6-15 from the floor, 5-9 from the arc, 3-3 from the line, 3 boards, 2 assists, 2 steals and 2 blocks.         In the other semi, the 2nd-seeded St. Francis Xavier X-Women edged the 6th-seeded UPEI Panthers 86-82 in overtime. The X-Women led 20-19 after one quarter and 37-35 at the half. The Panthers led 56-51 after three quarters. The score was knotted at 71 after regulation. The X-Women broke to an 8-0 lead before the Panthers began drilling treys to rally within one. Julie Hatcher came off the bench to hit back-to-back treys in the second half as the Panthers took the lead. But both teams soon found themselves in foul trouble. Rookies Kiera Rigby and Candace Smith provided a spark for the Panthers in the final quarter as they stretched their lead to eight but the X-Women rallied to take a 67-66 lead with five minutes to play. With 10 seconds to play in regulation, Panther Laura Power executed a clever out-of-bounds play to force overtime. After the teams traded treys, St. FX pulled away. Rebecca Sheehan was chosen player of the game for the X-Women, while Danielle MacDonald earned the laurels for the Panthers.         In the final, the top-seeded Saint Mary’s Huskies dusted the 2nd-seeded St. Francis Xavier X-Women 76-63 after leading 24-22, 44-35 and 59-47 at the quarters. The X-Women broke to an 8-2 lead but Justine Colley shifted gears for the Huskies by playing penetrate and pitch. The Huskies also capitalized on St. FX turnovers and perimeter shooting as they built a double-digit lead in the first half and romped to the comfortable win, leading by as many as 19 in the fourth quarter as they captured their second consecutive AUAA crown. Rachelle Coward paced the Huskies with 23 on 8-19 from the floor, 4-10 from the arc, 3-4 from the line, 5 boards and 3 steals. Justine Colley added 22 on 7-18 from the floor, 1-6 from the arc, 7-12 from the line, 13 boards, 8 assists and 2 steals.
