In the semis, St. FX defeated Saint Mary’s 96-94 in overtime as Mark Brodie scored 29 and Tom Sullivan 21. Sullivan hit a jumper with three seconds to play in overtime to win for the X-Men. Ron Blommers paced the Huskies 30, along with 12 boards. Mike Roberson added 21. The Huskies had trailed by as many as 14 in the second half.

        In the other semi, Acadia defeated New Brunswick 112-101. Ken Amos paced the Varsity Reds with 32.

        In the final, St. FX edged Acadia 96-95 in overtime as Varouj Gurunlian hit two free throws with 22 seconds left to play. St FX featured national team member Gurunlian, New York rookie Mark Brodie, Alberta rookie John Hatch and Halifax rookie Shawn Parker.
