       In the semis, the Saint Mary’s Huskies whipped the Dalhousie Tigers 84-54 as Thomas scored 22, Fox 16 and Perry 12. The Huskies led 43-23 at the half. Godden led the Tigers with 11.

       In the other semi, the Acadia Axemen whacked the New Brunswick Varsity Reds 114-50 after leading 49-22 at the half. Tom Staines paced the Axemen with 24. Jon Beausang added 22, Rick Cassey 14, Glen Taylor 12, Paul Talbot 10, Joey Wells 9, Gord West 9, John Dionisi 8 and George Beattie 6, while John Borodko was scoreless. The Axemen hit 18-25 from the line. Blaine MacDonald led the Varsity Reds with 16. Ken Amos added 12, Dick Slipp 8, John Wetmore 4, Scott Fowler 4, Tom Hendershot 4 and Van Ruiter 2, while Brian Boyd and Steve Ruiter were scoreless. The Varsity Reds hit 4-11 from the line.

       In the bronze medal match, the Dalhousie Tigers edged the New Brunswick Varsity Reds 75-73 as Keith Johnson scored 16, Bruce Cassidy 15, John Godden 13, Ryan 9, Albert Slaunwhite 8, Bill Burns 6, Tom Fahie 4, Lang 4 and Bob Blount 2, while MacKay and Driscoll were scoreless. The Tigers hit 13-19 from the line. The Tigers took a 20-14 lead off dominant boardwork and led 40-32 at the half. The Varsity Reds rallied to within one with 4 minutes to play but a travelling call against Tom Hendershot and a Bruce Cassidy free throw iced it for Dalhousie. Ken Amos led the Varsity Reds with 23. Blaine MacDonald added 14, Tom Hendershot 13, John Wetmore 6, Dick Slipp 6, Van Ruiter 5, Scott Fowler 3 and Brian Boyd 1, while Steve Ruiter was scoreless. The Varsity Reds (coached by Don Nelson, assistant English, assistant Barr, assistant McNaught, equipment manager O’Donnell, manager Brown, manager Keaysk trainer Jim Arbeau, trainer Dunphy) also included Dave Seman, John Robbins, Ike Gallagher, Bob Munro, Brian French and Brian Troy.

       In the final, Saint Mary’s defeated Acadia 64-55. Mickey Fox paced the Huskies with 29. Greig Redding added 10, Lee Thomas 10 and John Gallinaugh 9. Joey Wells led the Axemen with 16. Beausang added 15 and Rick Cassey 9. The score was knotted at 29 at the half.
