The Huskies (coach Frank Baldwin, manager Jackson Mont) also included Brian Ross. Ted Wickwire led the Tigers with 21. Fred Nicholson added 13, Ernie Nickerson 9, Bill White 8, Nicholson 6, Shurman 4 and Dave Matheson 4, while Weatherson and MacGibbon were scoreless.        In the best of three Nova Scotia finals, St. FX defeated Dalhousie 72-51; 88-60 (2g-0). …………………………………………………… In the opener, St. FX continued its undefeated season in NSIBL play by roaring to a 72-51 win. St. FX exploded to a 42-22 lead and although Dalhousie rallied within 10 in the second half, St. FX coasted to the win. Bob Moran led St. FX with 27, Paul Davenport 18 and Ernie Foshay 14. St. FX shot .337 from the floor while Dalhousie shot a poor .238. Ernie Nickerson paced the Tigers with 15. Bill White added 14 and Dave Matheson 7. …………………………………………………… In game two, St. FX thrashed Dal 88-60 after taking a 44-36 lead at the half. Moran led St. FX scorers with 30, including 18 in the first half, while Davenport added 23, Foshay 14 and point guard ‘Easy’ Ed Hilton 11. Nickerson paced Dalhousie with 22. Dave Matheson 15 and Bill White 10. The Tigers (coached by Al Thomas) also included Ted Wickwire, Fred Nicholson, Cameron Smith, Nick Weatherston, Bob Schurman, Wayne MacGibbon, Wayne Beaton, Al Murray, Wayne Beaton, Dave Matheson, John Wellman and Fisher.

       New Brunswick opened with a 70-67 defeat of St. FX as guards Johnny Kelly and John Gorman put on a display of ballhandling that confounded St. FX. The Varsity Reds led by 11 when Kelly fouled out, followed shortly thereafter by John Gorman, but Bryant and Manzer kept UNB in the lead until the whistle blew, although by then St. FX had trimmed the margin to three. Kelly finished with 17, Gorman 16, Manzer 11, Bryant 11, Taylor 6, Porter 7 and Casey 2. Davenport paced St. FX with 24, Moran added 18, Foshay 10, Monterio 7, Hilton 6 and Daigle 2, The X-Men had only one Canadian (Carl Marsh) on their roster.

In game two, St. FX defeated New Brunswick 54-46 to take the total-point series 121-116. Moran led the X-Men with 23. Davenport added 10, Foshey 9, Monteiro 6, Hilton 2, Chisholm 3 and Daigle 2. Kelley led the Varsity Reds with 17. Gorman added 8, Bryant 7, Manzer 4, Casey 4, Porter 2, Petrie 2 and Kirkpatrick 2.
