In the best of three Nova Scotia finals, St. FX defeated Dalhousie 72-51; 88-60 (2g-0). …………………………………………………… In the opener, St. FX continued its undefeated season in NSIBL play by roaring to a 72-51 win. St. FX exploded to a 42-22 lead and although Dalhousie rallied within 10 in the second half, St. FX coasted to the win. Bob Moran led St. FX with 27, Paul Davenport 18 and Ernie Foshay 14. St. FX shot .337 from the floor while Dalhousie shot a poor .238. Ernie Nickerson paced the Tigers with 15. Bill White added 14 and Dave Matheson 7. …………………………………………………… In game two, St. FX thrashed Dal 88-60 after taking a 44-36 lead at the half. Bob Moran led St. FX scorers with 30, including 18 in the first half, while Paul Davenport added 23, Ernie Foshay 14 and point guard ‘Easy’ Ed Hilton 11. Dalhousie was led by Ernie Nickerson 22, Dave Matheson 15 and Bill White 10. The Tigers (coached by Al Thomas) also included Ted Wickwire, Fred Nicholson, Cameron Smith, Nick Weatherston, Bob Schurman, Wayne MacGibbon, Wayne Beaton, Al Murray, Wayne Beaton, Dave Matheson, John Wellman and Fisher.

New Brunswick opened with a 70-67 defeat of St. FX as guards Johnny Kelly and John Gorman put on a display of ballhandling that confounded St. FX. The Varsity Reds led by 11 when Kelly fouled out, followed shortly thereafter by John Gorman, but Don Bryant and Ron Manzer kept UNB in the lead until the whistle blew, although by then St. FX had trimmed the margin to three. John Kelly finished with 17, John Gorman 16, Ron Manzer 11, Don Bryant 11, Ronald Taylor 6, Bob Porter 7 and Al Casey 2, while Hodgson, Kirkpatrick, Vaughan and Petrie were scoreless. St. FX was led by Paul Davenport 24, Bob Moran 18, Ernie Foshay 10, Bob Monterio 7, Hilton 6 and Daigle 2, while Burns, Chisholm and Chapman were scoreless. The X-Men had only one Canadian (Carl Marsh) on their roster.
In game two, St. FX defeated New Brunswick 52-46 to take the total-point series 119-116.
