In game one, St. FX prevailed 46-43 as point guard Al Grassi scored 16, Howie McNally 8, McFarland 7, Gallant 5, John Campbell 4, Frank Shea 4 and Russ MacNeill 2. The host X-Men led 22-13 at the half. McNally scored the X-Men’s last three points. Jack Reardon led UPEI with 17. John Taylor added 8, Gus Dorais 7, Bob Mooney 5, Clarence MacDonald 3, Cyril MacIssac 2 and Pete Dunphy 1. The Saints led 23-22 at the half.
