In New Brunswick play, host Mount Allison defeated the New Brunswick Red Raiders 31-28 and then protested UNB’s use of Dave Stothart, who Mount Allison claimed had played for five seasons and is no longer eligible. But Howie Ryan ruled that intercollegiate play was suspended during the war, so those years couldn’t be counted as college years. The Maritime Intercollegiate body was asked to rule on Stothart’s status. They ruled that the protest is valid and that Stothart couldn’t play at UNB. …………………………………………………… In Mount Allison’s 31-28 win, Eastman scored 15, Cameron 13, Anderson 2 and Tucker 1.
