In sudden-death Maritime finals, the New Brunswick Varsity Reds defeated the St. Francis Xavier X-Men 58-44 in sudden death playoff as Stothart scored 22, Elgee 14, Owens 10, Demers 6, MacDonald 4 and Garland 2. Whalen paced St. FX with 17. Fraser Mooney added 14, Kyle 6, Frank Mooney 4 and Callahan 3. The X-Men led by 10 early as their zone puzzled the Varsity Reds. But UNB rallied to a 24-21 lead at the half.
