Calgary’s Jodi Evans was named recipient of the Nan Copp. “It’s very flattering to be picked among such talented players,” said the 22-year-old. “But when it comes down to it, if the team hadn’t played so well, I wouldn’t have been in the position I’m in.” Evans led Canada West in scoring (20.7 ppg), rebounding (14.8 rpg), and assists (7.5 apg).

        Laurentian’s Peter Ennis was named national coach of the year.

        Ryerson’s Darcel Wright was selected rookie of the year.

        Joining Evans as 1st team All-Canadians were: Denise Scott (Toronto); Tanya McKenzie (Winnipeg); Jackie Moore (Regina); and Cynthia Johnston (Bishop’s).

        The 2nd team selections were: Shawna Molcak (Lethbridge); Kelly Boucher (Victoria); Kim Bertholet (Manitoba); Dianne Norman (Laurentian); and Tina Fasone (McGill).

        Joining Wright on the all-rookie team were: Nannette Anderson (Saskatchewan); Sharon Sandy (Concordia); Laura Swift (New Brunswick); and Vicky Wilson (Queen’s).
