The Mike Moser Memorial Trophy is awarded annually to the nation’s top university player in honour of the former two-time CIAU All-Canadian, who died in hospital of an infection during a team visit to Florida. The Moser was first awarded in 74-75.
The Stuart W. Aberdeen Memorial Trophy, first awarded in 72-73, is dedicated in memory of the former head coach of Acadia, and is awarded annually by the National Association of Basketball Coaches of Canada. The motion to rename the coach of the year award the Aberdeen Trophy winner was passed by the NABCC in 1980.
