Brandon’s Patrick Jebbison was awarded the Moser. The 23-year-old centre and native of Toronto, who’d played for the Martingrove Bears, averaged 18.8 ppg and 6.3 rpg for the top-ranked Bobcats. “This year I seemed to only have one good half every game,” he said. “That part’s disappointing. I had a good year but I thought I had a better season last year. I thought I would have made all-Canadian last year.” Jebbison was also player of the year in the GPAC. Jebbison averaged 19.5 ppg, 6.1 rpg in GPAC play, while shooting .629 from the floor and .773 from the line. He was a first-team GPAC all-star.

        Acadia’s Dave Nutbrown was awarded the Aberdeen. Nutbrown steered the Axemen to a (17-1) AUAA regular season title.

Alberta’s Rick Stanley was named the first recipient of the Mullins award as national rookie of the year. The 6-8 centre averaged 11.1 ppg for the Golden Bears.

Joining Jebbison as 1st-team All-Canadians were: Byron Tokarchuk (Saskatchewan); John Stiefelmeyer (Western); Peter Morris (Acadia); and Fred Murrell (Toronto). …………………………………………………… Tokarchuk, a 6-9 post, was a first-team Canada West all-star. He scored 470 points in 20 Canada West games to finish in a tie for the Canada West scoring title. He averaged 23.5 ppg and 8.9 rpg on the campaign. …………………………………………………… Stiefelmeyer, a 6-6 post from Niagara Falls A.N. Myer, averaged 25-9 ppg. He was a first-team OUAA West all-star. …………………………………………………… Morris, a 6-7 post, averaged 18.4 ppg and 8.2 rpg in AUAA play, while hitting .596 from the floor and .754 from the line. He was named AUAA player of the year and was a first-team AUAA all-star. …………………………………………………… Murrell, from Oakville T.A. Blakelock, was a first-team OUAA all-star.

The 2nd team selections were: J.D. Jackson (U.B.C.); Terry Garrow (Manitoba); Chris Biegler (Regina); Kevin Veinot (Acadia); and Rob Froese (Waterloo). …………………………………………………… Jackson, a native of Vernon, B.C., finished the season with a UBC single-season scoring record of 816 points in 35 games. The 6-5 guard and phys ed major scored 470 points in 20 Canada West games (23.5 ppg) to finish in a tie for the Canada West scoring title. He was also UBC’s leading shot blocker, second in rebounding and third in assists. A member of Canada’s junior national team, he was a Canada West first-team all-star. …………………………………………………… Garrow, a 6-2 guards from Nepean St. Pius X, averaged 21.5 ppg and 5.0 rpg in GPAC play, while shooting .439 from the floor and .786 from the line. He was a first-team GPAC all-star. …………………………………………………… Veinot, a 6-5 forward, averaged 11.5 ppg and 8.2 rpg in AUAA play, while hitting .484 from the floor and .720 from the line.
