QAHWASH, IMAD

6-2 G   (CENTRAL ARKANSAS, 2008-2011)

        From Kitchener, Ontario where he played for Grand River. He then attended Harmony Prep in Cincinnati, Ohio, where he averaged 10 ppg, 4.7 apg and 1.3 spg as a senior.

        As a freshman in 2008, Qahwash played in 20 games, for an average 4.5 mpg. He hit 9-24 (.375) from the floor, 1-8 (.125) from the arc and 16-27 (.593) from the line, while garnering 8 boards (including 5 on the offensive glass and 0.4 rpg), 14 fouls, 6 assists, 14 turnovers, 6 steals and 35 points, for a 1.8 ppg. The Bears, coached by Rand Chappell, finished 14-16 overall and 4-12 (6th, East division) in Southland play.

        As a sophomore in 2009, Qahwash started 1 of 29 games, for an average 11.4 mpg. He hit 20-45 (.444) from the floor, 0-5 from the arc and 31-54 (.574) from the line, while garnering 52 boards (including 13 on the offensive glass and a 1.8 rpg), 29 fouls, 36 assists, 21 turnovers, 13 steals and 71 points, for a 2.4 ppg. The Bears, coached by Rand Chappell, finished 10-19 overall and 3-13 (tied 5th, East division) in Southland play.

        As a junior in 2010, Qahwash started 23 of 30 games, playing an average 24.7 mpg. He hit 48-124 (.387) from the floor, 3-17 (.176) from the arc and 94-132 (.712) from the line, while garnering 147 boards (including 36 on the offensive glass and a 4.9 rpg), 57 fouls (fouling out once), 76 assists, 86 turnovers, 32 steals and 193 points, for a 6.4 ppg. The Bears, coached by Rand Chappell, finished 9-21 overall and 3-13 (6th, East division) in Southland play. After the season, Chappell is fired and replaced by Corliss Williamson, formerly at Arkansas Baptist College.

        As a senior in 2011, Qahwash started 6 of 29 games, for an average 22.9 mpg. He hit 111-265 (.419) from the floor, 33-96 (.344) from the arc and 109-159 (.686) from the line, while garnering 82 boards (including 35 on the offensive glass and a 2.8 rpg), 48 fouls, 48 assists, 82 turnovers, 31 steals and 364 points, for a 12.6 ppg. The Bears, coached by Corliss Williamson, finished 5-24 overall and 1-15 (6th, East division) in Southland play.

QUEST, DANE

6-6 F   (TENNESSEE TECH, 2020-2022)

        From Toronto, Ont. and Lake Forest HS in Illinois, where he averaged 13 ppg, 7 rpg and 5 apg as a senior.

        As a freshman in 2020, Quest started 1 of the 25 games he played, for an average 10.9 mpg. He hit 12-39 (.308) from the floor, 2-13 (.154) from the arc and 7-12 (.583) from the line, while garnering 76 boards (including 31 on the offensive glass and a 2-6 rpg), 29 fouls (fouling out once), 7 assists, 20 turnovers (0.3 asst/to ratio), 10 steals, 3 blocks and 33 points, for a 1.3 ppg. The Golden Eagles (coached by John Pelphrey) finished 6-12 (9th) in Ohio Valley play and 9-22 overall. Postseason play was cancelled by the Covid-19 pandemic.

        As a sophomore in 2021, Quest played in 26 games, for an average 18.8 mpg. He hit 25-61 (.410) from the floor, 4-12 from the arc and 44-65 (.677) from the line, while garnering 80 boards (including 24 on the offensive glass and a 3.1 rpg), 33 fouls, 31 assists, 36 turnovers (0.9 asst/to ratio), 4 blocks, 8 steals and 98 points, for a 3.8 ppg. The Golden Eagles (coached by John Pelphrey) finished 5-22 overall and 5-15 (11th) in Ohio Valley play, failing to qualify for the postseason conference tournament.

        As a junior in 2022, Quest played in 19 games, for an average 7.4 mpg. He hit 14-29 (.483) from the floor, 1-5 from the arc and 6-7 (.857) from the line, while garnering 23 boards, including 6 on the offensive glass and a 1.2 rpg, 7 fouls, 11 assists, 10 turnovers, 3 blocks, 8 steals and 35 points, for a 1.8 ppg. The Golden Eagles (coached by John Pelphrey) finished 11-21 overall and 7-10 (7th) in Ohio Valley play. They defeated Austin Peay 78-51 before losing 73-56 to Morehead State in the conference postseason tournament quarterfinals.

        After the season, Quest left the program and enrolled at the NJCAA’s Western New Mexico University. He subsequently enrolled at the University of Toronto, where he was eligible as a fifth-year senior in 2023-24.
