As a junior in 2022, Obeng-Mensah started 23 of 32 games, playing an average 17.3 mpg. He hit 85-159 (.535) from the floor, 1-11 (.091) from the arc and 50-73 (.685) from the line, while garnering 170 boards, including 52 on the offensive glass and a 5.3 rpg, 61 fouls, 17 assists, 28 turnovers, 15 steals, 14 blocks and 221 points, for a 6.9 ppg. The Greyhounds (coached by Jim Ferry) finished 18-14 overall and 11-7 (2nd) in America East play. They defeated UMass-Lowell 93-85 and Hartford 80-60 before losing 82-43 to Vermont in the conference postseason tournament final. The Greyhounds accepted an invitation to The Basketball Classic postseason tournament but withdrew from a scheduled first-round match against Merrimack because of a “lack of healthy players (presumably a covid-19 outbreak).
As a senior in 2023, Obeng started 31 of 32 games, playing an average 22.9 mpg. He hit 115-228 (.504) from the floor, 1-18 (.056) from the arc and 41-62 (.661) from the line, while garnering 204 boards, including 55 on the offensive glass and a 6.4 rpg, 63 fouls, 32 assists, 33 turnovers, 26 steals, 17 blocks and 272 points, for an 8.5 ppg. The Retrievers (coached by Jim Ferry) finished 18-14 overall and 8-8 (tied 4th) in America East play, before losing 67-65 to Binghamton in the quarterfinals of the conference postseason tournament.
After the season, Obeng-Mensah entered the transfer portal and enrolled at Niagara.
As a graduate senior in 2024, Obeng-Mensah started 24 of the 29 games he played, for an average 24.7 mpg. He hit 106-208 (.510) from the floor, 4-10 from the arc and 75-104 (.721) from the line, while garnering 141 boards, including 50 on the offensive glass and a 4.9 rpg, 50 fouls, 50 assists, 35 turnovers, 21 steals, 10 blocks and 291 points, for a 10.0 ppg. He hit 98-231 (.424) from the floor, 34-96 (.354) from the arc and 86-111 (.775) from the line, while garnering 123 boards, including 17 on the offensive glass and a 3.8 rpg, 50 fouls, 69 assists, 57 turnovers, 28 steals, 11 blocks and 316 points, for a 9.9 ppg. The River Hawks (coached by Pat Duquette) finished 22-10 and 11-5 (tied 2nd) in America East play. They defeated Maryland-Baltimore County 94-89 in overtime and Bryant 77-70 before losing 66-61 to Vermont in the postseason conference tournament final.
ODOCH OPONG, ROBINSON
6-3 G (LONG ISLAND, 2011-2012)
Born in Nairobi, Kenya and raised in Quebec City. Toiled for CEGEP Ste-Foy. Chosen a CCAA All-Canadian.
As a freshman in 2011, Odoch Opong played in 11 games for an average 3.5 mpg. He hit 6-18 (.333) from the floor and 3-12 (.250) from the arc, while garnering 7 boards (including 3 on the offensive glass and a 0.6 rpg), 7 fouls, 2 assists, 4 turnovers, 1 steal and 15 points, for a 1.4 ppg. The Blackbirds, coached by Jim Ferry, finished 27-6 overall and 16-2 (1st) in Northeast play. They captured the postseason crown and then fell 102-87 to North Carolina in the opening round of the NCAA tournament.
As a sophomore in 2012, Odoch Opong played in 17 games, for an average 5.4 mpg. A dual citizen born in Windsor, Ont. Played for Romulus High in Michigan, the Carolina Basketball Academy and Western Oklahoma State CC, where he averaged 23.1 ppg as a sophomore.
As a junior in 2021, O’Hearn started 13 of 17 games, playing an average 27.6 mpg. ODURO, PRINCE
6-7 F (SIENA, 2018 and MISSISSIPPI STATE, 2020 and SOUTH FLORIDA, 2021)
From Toronto Earl Haig Secondary and First Love Christian Academy in Washington, Pennsylvania, where he averaged 13 ppg and 11 rpg in his final season. Toiled for the Canadian national team that won a gold medal at the U19 FIBA World Cup in Heraklion, Greece.
As a freshman in 2018, Oduro started 27 of the 31 games he played, for an average 25.6 mpg. He hit 121-250 (.484) from the floor and 41-123 (.333) from the line, while garnering 157 boards (including 48 on the offensive glass and a 5.1 rpg), 100 fouls (fouling out 5 times), 23 assists, 66 turnovers, 21 blocks, 7 steals and 283 points, for a 9.1 ppg. He was selected to the MAAC all-rookie team. The Saints (coached by Jamion Christian) finished 8-24 overall and 4-14 (tied 10th) in Metro Atlantic play.
After the season, Oduro transferred to Mississippi State and was thus required to sit out the 2019 campaign. The Bulldogs (coached by Ben Howland) finished 23-11 and 10-8 (tied 6th) in SEC play. They defeated Texas A&M 80-54 before losing 83-76 to Tennessee in the conference postseason tournament and then fell 80-76 to Liberty in the opening round of the NCAA tournament.
As a sophomore in 2020, Oduro played in 21 games, for an average 4.0 mpg. He hit 7-13 (.538) from the floor and 11-16 (.688) from the line, while garnering 19 boards (including 6 on the offensive glass and a 0.9 rpg), 19 fouls, 1 assist, 7 turnovers, 1 steal, 3 blocks and 25 points, for a 1.2 ppg. The Bulldogs (coached by Ben Howland) finished 1-17 (tied 4th) and 20-11 overall. Postseason play was cancelled by the Covid-19 pandemic.
After the season, Oduro left the program and transferred to South Florida, where he was eligible as a junior in 2021.
As a junior in 2021, Oduro started 2 of the 17 games he played, for an average 9.8 mpg. After the season, Oduro left and program and entered the transfer protocol, enrolling at Detroit Mercy, where he was eligible as a senior in 2023. But he instead surfaced in the Finnish professional ranks.

6-4 G (MANHATTAN, 2020)
From Toronto, Ont., Wasatch Academy in Utah, and Harcum College in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania, where he averaged 11.6 ppg, 4.9 rpg and 3.2 apg as a sophomore.
As a junior in 2020, Okafor started 4 of the 24 games he played, for an average 7.3 mpg. He hit 15-35 (.429) from the floor, 2-10 from the arc and 5-13 (.385) from the line, while garnering 40 boards (including 12 on the offensive glass and a 1.7 rpg), 26 fouls, 8 assists, 9 turnovers, 4 blocks, 10 steals and 37 points, for a 1.5 ppg. As a freshman in 2024, Okojie started 10 of 32 games, playing an average 24.5 mpg. He hit 74-158 (.468) from the floor, 11-43 (.256) from the arc and 99-136 (.728) from the line, while garnering 91 boards, including 17 on the offensive glass and a 2.8 rpg, 65 fouls, 78 assists, 51 turnovers, 46 steals, 2 blocks and 258 points, for an 8.1 ppg. From Toronto, Ont. Somalian-born, Olol attended Notre Dame Catholic in Ottawa and then transferred to Monroe CC in Rochester, NY, where he averaged 6.2 ppg and 4.4 rpg in his second year. He then enrolled at Coppin State, where he was eligible as a junior in 2011. A dual citizen.
As a junior in 2011, Olol played in 7 games, for an average 3.7 mpg. He hit 2-8 (.250) from the floor, 0-1 from the arc and 1-2 (.500) from the line, while garnering 4 boards (including 1 on the offensive glass and a 0.6 rpg), 2 assists, 3 turnovers, 2 blocks and 5 points, for a 0.7 ppg. He hit 92-196 (.469) from the floor, 51-116 (.440) from the arc and 33-42 (.786) from the line, while garnering 65 boards (including 32 on the offensive glass and a 2.5 rpg), 53 assists (2.0 apg), 28 turnovers (1.1 tpg), 13 steals (0.5 spg), 2 blocks (0.1 bpg), 45 fouls (fouling out twice) and 268 points, for a 10.3 ppg (and a game-high 36. The Eagles, coached by Steve Aggers, finished 15-12 overall and 12-4 (tied 1st) in Big Sky play. Lost in the postseason tourney semi-finals. Olson ranked fifth in the league in 3pt FG%. After the season, Eggers took the head coaching job at Loyola Marymount and was replaced by Ray Giacoletti from North Dakota State. “He’s someone I’ve been extremely impressed with,” Giacoletti said. “he gets after it every single opportunity. He’s had the opportunity to training with the Canadian Olympic team this summer. He’s really dedicated himself.”
As a senior in 2001, Olson earned first-team all-Big Sky honors. He started 19 of the 20 games he played, for an average 30.5 mpg. As a junior in 2012, Olynyk redshirted. The Zags, coached by Mark Few, finished 26-7 overall and 13-3 (2nd) in West Coast play. They captured the postseason tournament title by knocking off St. Mary’s 78-74 and then defeated West Virginia 77-54 in the opening/second round of the NCAA tournament before losing 73-66 to Ohio State in the third round.
As a junior in 2013, Olynyk had a sensational campaign while being named a consensus first-team All-American. He started in 27 of 31 games, for an average 26.0 mpg. He hit 207-320 (.647) from the floor, 9-27 (.333) from the arc and 122-156 (.782) from the line, while garnering 226 boards (including 71 on the offensive glass and a 7.3 rpg), 71 fouls (fouling out twice), 53 assists (1.71 apg), 73 turnovers (an A/TO ratio of 0.73), 35 blocks (1.13 bpg), 21 steals (0.68 spg) and 545 points, for a 17.6 ppg. The Zags, coached by Mark Few, finished 32-2 overall and 16-0 (1st) in West Coast play. They were seeded first in the NCAA’s West regional and edged Southern 64-58 before being stunned 76-70 by Wichita State in the round of 32. Olynyk was also named the conference’s MVP.
Olynyk declared for the NBA draft was chosen 13th overall by the Dallas Mavericks. In a pre-arranged deal, he was immediately traded by the Mavericks to the Boston Celtics for Lucas Nogueira and two future second round draft picks. Olynyk signed a US$9 million, four-year contract with the Celtics in July, 2013, and was chosen to the NBA all-rookie second team in his first campaign.
In July, 2017, Olynyk signs a free-agent deal with the Miami Heat, reportedly for four-years and $50-million (US). In March, 2021, Olynyk was traded by Miami , along with a 2022 first-round draft pick and Avery Bradley to the Houston Rockets for Victor Oladipo. In August, 2021, as a free agent, Olynyk signed a $37-million/three-year deal with the Detroit Pistons. In September, 2022, he was traded, along with Saben Lee and cash, to the Utah Jazz for Bojan Bogdanovic. February, 2024, he was traded by the Jazz, along with Ochai Agbaji, to the Toronto Raptors for Kira Lewis Jr, Otto Porter Jr and a 1st-round trade exception.

Omoruyi went undrafted but he subsequently signed a series of two-way contracts with the Dallas Mavericks and Oklahoma City Thunder, a series of short-term contracts with the Detroit Pistons, and then a regular contract with the Washington Wizards.

From Toronto, Ont. Central Tech, and Vincennes JC, where he was named an NJCAA third-team all-American, while averaging 17.2 ppg, 9.8 rpg and 1.6 apg as a sophomore. As a freshman, he toiled on a Vincennes team that won a national JC title and was named tournament MVP after scoring 22 points and nabbing 10 boards in the final.
As a junior in 2021, Osawe played in 26 games, for an average 8.0 mpg. He hit 20-54 (.370) from the floor, 8-24 from the arc and 10-11 (.909) from the line, while garnering 50 boards (including 17 on the offensive glass and a 1.9 rpg), 13 fouls, 5 assists, 9 turnovers, 5 steals, 1 block and 58 points, for a 2.2 ppg. OSBORNE, ISIAH
6-5 G (UTEP, 2018)
An all-star guard at the University of Windsor, Osborne appears to have been persuaded to quit the Lancers in August, 2016 when Miners post Matt Willms saw him play a summer exhibition match against Charleston Southern, in which he scored 35 points. Days later, Osborne requested his release from Windsor and it appeared a UTEP coach contacted him prior to the official NCAA transfer period. But no protocols existed for CIS to NCAA transfers. “The University of Windsor will pursue remedies to this case through consultation with the NCAA via CIS channels and through Conference USA through the OUA executive. As well, we will push to create legislation and protocols that include proper sanctions for violation of these protocols,” athletic director Mike Havey said.
Osborne sat out 2017 as a transfer. The Miners (coached by Tim Floyd) finished 15-17 overall and 12-6 (tied 3rd) in Conference USA play. Eligible as a sophomore in 2018.
As a sophomore in 2018, Osborne started in 19 of 29 games, for an average 20.2 mpg. He hit 92-244 (.377) from the floor, 41-125 (.328) from the arc and 47-75 (.627) from the line, while garnering 10 boards (including 15 on the offensive glass and a 3.7 rpg), 39 fouls, 30 assists, 25 turnovers, 3 blocks, 19 steals and 272 points, for a 9.4 ppg. They defeated Louisiana-Lafayette 72-65 and Louisiana-Monroe 70-50 to capture the postseason title and then stunned Purdue 85-83 in the opening round of the NCAA tournament before falling 78-61 to Iowa State. After the season, Beard bailed (eventually for Texas A&M) and was replaced by associate coach Wes Flanagan.
