With Vancouver and Calgary finishing tied atop the standings, a one game playoff was deemed necessary, which the Eilers won 42-38 as Shirley Topley scored 17. Marg Whitehead, Irene Mercer and Zoe Robinson each added 6, Joan Ham 4 and Leanne Stephens 3, while Gerry Gilmore and Eleanor Whyte were scoreless. Darlene Currie led the Maxwells with 15. Connie Nixon added 8, Pat Gillespie 4, Bev Coward 4, Joan Johnson 4, Lorraine Adams 2 and Larson 1, while Epton, Ponech and Marg Southern were scoreless. The Eilers led 17-7 early but the Maxwells rallied to knot the score at 22 at the half. The Eilers moved ahead for good with Topley hit a bucket to make it 29-27. Darlene Currie responded with a free throw but consecutive buckets by Irene Mercer, Joan Ham and Marg Whitehead (twice) broke the game open.
