CABA reported that the “Edmonton Grads visited Vancouver to play in a Western series, emerging victors in two games – the last one being quite close but very robust. This was the end of the Canadian playdowns as neither Edmonton nor Winnipeg wishes to entertain Montreal. When senior playdowns fell through efforts were made to promote an Intermediate series but this fell through. When it seemed as if Dangle of Calgary could entertain Winnipeg, finance proved too big a hurdle. When Eastern papers began to charge Mr. Page with evasions, an offer was made to bring out Montreal but this never materialized. Women’s playdowns are in a lamentable state today.”
