        In game one, Toronto stunned the Grads 24-19. The Grads opened with a 3-0 run as Dot Johnson hit a bucket and Kate McCrae a free throw but the Lakesides rallied to a 6-4 lead after the quarter and maintained a two-point edge at 11-9 at the half as Edmonton struggled from the field. The Grads took a four-point lead early in the second half but then relaxed defensively as Toronto knotted the score at 14 after three quarters. Dolly Dunlop hit a bucket from midcourt and on the ensuing jump ball, hit another from her own half of the court as Toronto took a four-point lead and then went into a defensive shell and held on for the win. Toronto hit 6-10 from the line, while the Grads were 3-7. Nora Gordon led Toronto with 9. Dolly Dunlop added 5, Innes Bramley 5, Janet Allan 3, Helen Hendry 1 and Mina Swan 0.
