        In the semis, the Edmonton Express thumped the Regina Bullets 113-76 as 6-6 Tom Bishop scored 18. Gary Beckie led Regina with 18. Glen Fekula added 14.

        In the other semi, Toronto Estonia nipped the Halifax Whalers 78-70.

        In the fifth-place match, Winnipeg Nicollet Inn, which had won the national title three of the past six years, defeated Victoria Maples 114-98 as Joe Ogoms scored 31. Howard Kelsey paced Victoria with 19 points.

        In the bronze medal game, Doc Ryan scored 26 points to lead the Halifax Whalers past the Regina Bullets 96-86. Ron Blommers added 19. Gary Beckie led the Regina scorers with 24 points. Terry Burns added 16. The Bullets also included playing coach Glen Fekula, Doug Kelsey, Wes Stevenson, Ken Murray, Murray Douglas, Mark Kettler, Ray Jacoby, Darrell Puscus, Ladd Fogarty and Ron Bailey.

        National team member 6-5 Tony Simms keyed Toronto Estonia as they dumped the Edmonton Express 82-78 in the final. Edmonton was unable to shut off inside game of Jim Zoet. Simms led Estonia with 30. Zoet added 15, Wayne Allison 15 and Paul Jones 12. Tom Bishop led Edmonton with 36. Estonia was ahead 46-42 at the half.
