        In game one, the Maple Leafs superior height (an average 2 inches) and transition game proved the difference in a 33-26 win. They built a 19-11 lead at the half and staved off a final rally as Montreal trimmed the margin to one. Centre Joe Ross, captain and acting manager, returned the floor and hit a bucket to extend Vancouver’s lead to 24-21. Rann Matthison added another hoop as Vancouver pulled away. Art Willoughby paced the Maple Leafs with 9. Jim Bardsley added 6, Ralph Henderson 5, Joe Ross 4, Rann Mathison 4, A Watson 3, Al Beaton 2 and Milt Parsons 1. Joe Richman paced Montreal with 8.
