        In the West final, held in Salmon Arm, British Columbia defeated Saskatchewan 59-54 as Kim McLeod scored 15, Lisa Koop 12 and Tekki Brown 5. Trena Mott paced Saskatchewan with 15. Kim Grant added 12, Treena Mott 12 and Melanie Lukiw 10. McLeod told the Salmon Arm Observor that “I think Saskatchewan just got pumped up to play us.” BC coach Terry Michell said “it was really good because we hadn’t been pushed all wekks and we could have panicked but we never.” Saskatchewan coach Bill Dietrich was “we came very close and I was proud of them. They are scrappy.” Saskatchewan led 31-26 at the half but British Columiba began pounded the ball inside to 6-3 post and tournament MVP Denise Rehman more efficiently in the second half. BC guards Lisa Koop and Kim McLeod also began forcing turnovers with their ball pressure. Tekki Brown gave BC the lead for good with a pair of free throws with 4:30 to play. BC coach Terry Michell said “saskatchewan had their best game. They were disciplined offensively and aggressive defensively.”

        The all-tournament team featured MVP Denise Rehman (British Columbia) Kim McLeod (British Columbia); Lis Koop (British Columbia); Treena Mott (Saskatchewan); Kara Haines (Alberta); and Melanie Lukiw (Saskatchewan).

        Honorable mention all-tourney were awarded to Tekki Brown (British Columiba); Sandy Cassano (Saskatchewan); and Lisa Stubbs (Alberta).
