In game one, Bill Lawson scored 32, including the winning free throw with seven seconds to play as Toronto prevailed 77-76. Montreal rallied from a 41-30 deficit at the half to tie the score in the final minute on a pair of Claude Gervais free throws. But Lawson was fouled and notched the winner. Toronto’s Lawson and Chester Wlodarczyk dominated the boards.
