It being Ont/Que’s turn to pay for bring the Maritimes champ west for the playoffs, it was the Montreal Y.M.H.A.’s responsibility to finance the New Waterford’s trip. But they were unable to do so and C.A.B.A., by an executive vote of 6-2, declared that New Waterford would be awarded the title by default. A clearly disgruntled CABA secretary-treasurer and obvious Montreal supporter, noted in the minutes that “although the title is somewhat hollow, a title should be awarded for what it is worth.”
