        At national round robin play, held in Edmonton, the University of Alberta Pandas pounded the Lethbridge Gait School of Nursing 66-40 as Cathy Galusha scored 18. Sharon Trieber led Gait with 12.

The University of Victoria Vikettes dumped the Toronto Ausra Lithuanian Church of the Resurrection 51-38 as Jean Robertson scored 17, Lynn Hagglund 10, Marg Oliver 9, Marg Maysmith 6, Marcia McIntyre 3, June Casbolt 2, Lee Hagglund 2 and Gisela Weger 2. The Vikettes led 25-19 at the half. Vikettes guard Gaynol Vosburgh blew out a knee in the first half. Betty Starkutis led Ausra with 14. Lola Kekstas added 12.

The University of Victoria Vikettes whipped the Lethbridge Gait School of Nursing 64-42 as Jean Robertson scored 14, Lynn Hagglund 14, Marg Maysmith 10, Marg Oliver 8, Marcia McIntyre 5, Irene Smith 5, June Casbolt 4, Gisela Weger 3 and Lee Hagglund 2.         The Toronto Ausra Church of the Resurrection nipped the Lethbridge Gait School of Nursing 36-35. Lethbridge (coached by Betty Randall) included Leslie Hirotsur, Dianne Bunnage, Jeanene Pilling, Vicki Thomas, Juanita Marino, Judy Jones, Rita Quigley, Trudie Konynenbelt, Sharon Trieber, Marylynn Strain, Cobie Groenenboom and Lil Treka.

        The University of Alberta Pandas defeated the U. of Victoria Vikettes 38-37 as Irene McKay scored 12, Cathy Galusha 7 and Bev Richard 6. The Vikettes were led by Marg Maysmith’s 12 and Jean Robertson’s 11. With eight seconds to go, Victoria had the ball. The buzzer sounded and Vic threw the ball out of bounds. The referee gave the ball to Alberta. Victoria protested but lost the protest and the game. It was later determined that the clock had short circuited but officials ruled that the Vikettes had made a play when they simply threw the ball away. Victoria coach Wally Yeamans told the Edmonton Journal that “if Edmonton wants to win that way, good luck to them.” Victoria led 18-16 at the half and 35-30 with two minutes to play.
