In the other semi, Ontario spanked Manitoba 87-73 as Roger Rollocks scored 22, Peter Savich 15 and Randy Norris 13. Gord Tucker led Manitoba with 18. Ron Majors added 12 and Maurice Seales 9.

No placement round was conducted.

        In the bronze medal match, Manitoba defeated Alberta 92-85 as Maurice Seales scored 22, Mark Johannesen 19 and Perry Scarlett 17. Murray Hanna led Alberta with 28. Derrick Dell added 12, Jay Kenyon 9 and Mike Kornak 9. Alberta (coached by x, assisted by Dave Ryan) also included Jerome Ell, John Vigna.

        In the final, British Columbia edged Ontario 80-76 as Cord Clemens scored 29, Mark Staley 23 and Dan Steffes 16. Peter Savich led Ontario with 22. Roger Rollocks added 22 and Sam Hill 8. BC coach Don Horwood told the Regina Leader-post that “we put the big guy (7-2 Clemens) on Rollocks so we could shut down his jumping ability and keep him from getting inside. That’s a long way to shoot, over top of Clemens.” Clemens said “at first we thought we could let Rollocks have his 20 points ro so and shut down the rest of Ontario’s scorers. But I thought I could work him to the outside.” Clemens kept posting up for entry passes from Lloyd Scrubb, Tim Mills and Mark Staley. Clemens said “it’s more fun to play offence than defence. We got rattled a bit when they started pressing up but we held on.” Ontario cut a 15-point lead to three by going to the press with six minutes to play. Ontario coach Peter Domengoni said “you can’t spot a team 15 points and expect to come back. The press brought us close but not close enough.”
