Quigley’s hit 26-39 from the line. Larry Raymond led AKO with 26. Oliver Mio added 8, Harper 12, Graham 11, Ken Kokanis 7, Fletcher 4 and Kaslauskas 2. Windsor hit 18-30 from the line. AKO coach Mike Gloster told the Windsor Star that “we used the press for the entire game except for the final two minutes. We had to call it off because of fouls. … We designed a zone defence specifically to stop Noble. We were ready to concede their guards the outside. We didn’t expect them to shoot like that.”

In game one, the Victoria Chinooks prevailed 85-75. Hamilton controlled boards with its height. But only Barry Hutton was on the mark as he scored 38 points, including 23 in the second half. Hamilton used full-court press to try and rattle Victoria in the first half but Chinooks were still ahead 39-37 at the break. Victoria took control in the second half, leading by as many as nine. Hamilton was ice cold. Hamilton closed to within three at 63-60 but Vic pulled away. The Chinooks were paced by Glen Moffat’s 25 points. Chris Hall added 18, guard Drew Schroeder 11, Barry Turner 9, Mike O’Connor 9, Dave Wirtanen 8 and Rod Fields 5, while Al Huddleston, Dan Wade, Eric Walker and Greg Schroeder were scoreless. Greg Jackson added 11 for Quigley’s. Mike Hogg scored 8, Ray Delegare 6, O’Hoski 4, Larry Hamilton 4, Jim Noble 2 and Brian Ashurst 2, while Vytaj Orlickas, Gary Herriot and Graham Hood were scoreless. Vic coach Moe Turner said he hadn’t expected the victory given that Victoria league MVP Ollie Moilanen was out with the flu and in hospital with internal injuries and a cracked hip and that Glen Moffat was playing on a bad ankle. Gregg Jackson added 11 for Hamilton.
In game two, Hamilton stomped Victoria 91-69. After scoring a scant two points in game one, Jim Noble came up with a sterling effort, scoring 27 to pace the Quigley’s and break Victoria 9-game playoff winning streak. Ray Delegarde added 20, Gregg Jackson 17; Barry Hutton 19, Dan O’Hoski 6 and Mike Hogg 2, while Vytas Orlickas, Brian Ashhurst, Gary Herriot, Graham Hood and Larry Hamilton were scoreless. For Victoria, Chris Hall scored 21, Dave Wirtanen 14, Rod Fields 12, Glen Moffat 12, Barry Turner 5, Drew Schroeder 2, Eric Walker 2 and Mike O’Connor 1, while Al Huddleston, Dan Wade and Greg Schroeder were scoreless. Three Vic starters fouled out. Quigley’s coach Dave Bartolotta told the Victoria Times-Colonist that “we played a good game. But I’ll tell you one thing, they’ve got a good ball club, too. and we shouldn’t have beat them by that much.” The difference was Jim Noble being shifted to forward from the high post, and full-court pressure, he added. “That boy (Noble) had been going for us for the last four games. I don’t know what happened, but he just wasn’t in the game Friday.”
In game three, Hamilton led 56-26 at half and took the series with a 91-74 victory after leading 56-26 at the half. Jim Noble fouled out with 14 minutes to go and Hamilton up 70-43. Hamilton’s zone press, tough rebounding and fast break were the difference in the contest. Barry Hutton paced Hamilton with 28. Jim Noble added 25, Ray Delegarde 15, Gregg Jackson 14, Gary Herriot 5, Larry Hamilton 2, Graham Hood 1 and Brian Ashurst 1, while Vytas Orlickas, Dan O’Hoski and Mike Hogg were scoreless. Glen Moffat paced Victoria with 21. Chris Hall added 15, Rod Fields 14, Dave Wirtanen 11, Barry Turner 8 and Mike O’Connor 5, while Drew Schroeder, Al Huddleston, Dan Wade, Eric Walker and Greg Schroeder were scoreless. Quigley’s finished 22-7 on the campaign.
