Toronto quickly took command by taking an eight-point lead after five minutes, extending their lead to 21-11 at the half. The sharpshooting of Doug Spry and Jack Corrigan put the outcome out of reach in the second half. Spry paced Toronto with 14. In New Brunswick playoffs, Saint John defeated Saint John CYO 47-46; 27-25 and 33-25 (2g-1). Billy Thorne leads Saint Johns. Bill Ritchie leads CYO. Saint John adds Ritchie to team as a military replacement when one of their players join the army.
In the Maritime final and East semi, Saint John defeated Chatham St. Michael’s CYO 47-33; 56-26 (Total 103-59). There was no Nova Scotia or PEI representation, so Saint John advanced directly to Eastern final.
In Quebec, the Montreal Basketball Association did not enter any team in the Dominion playoffs because it felt “conditions did not warrant sending along the annual fee.”
