        In the final, Quebec defeated Ontario 70-57. Quebec led 14-13 after one quarter. Ontario led 32-30 at the half and 48-41 after three quarters. But Quebec exploded with a 19-1 run in the fourth quarter to take command.

“People’s perception of Quebec was bad,” said Quebec coach Daniel Lacasse. “When you finish in 8th place [in 2013}, you do not gain much recognition. When I was asked to take charge of the Quebec U17 team, I accepted on condition that it was on a two-year plan.  … Usually Quebec teams are only centralized during the summer,” said Lacasse. “We decided to work over 12 months. Fifteen games in blocks of five, emphasis on different points each time. And it paid off.” Lacasse said he told his troops after defeating Ontario in pool play that “it was a victory but not an accomplishment. They had not played well despite a favorable result. They understood something more.” After the third quarter, Lacasse said he told them “they had to start to force themselves because there would not be a fifth.” Sarah Te-Biasu caught fire in the fourth. “My team trusted me and it gave me energy again,” Te-Biasu said. “We woke up, we spoke, we remained united. We knew our potential. Then we started to play the game.” Sarah Te-Biasu paced Quebec with 23 on 3-9 from the floor, 5-19 from the arc, 2-2 from the line, 4 boards, 4 assists and 3 steals. Roxane Makolo added 15 on 6-12 from the floor, 1-3 from the arc, 0-2 from the line, 9 boards and 5 assists. Kiandra Brown added 14 on 6-9 from the floor, 2-2 from the line and 10 boards. Paule Beline Blandina Ibata-Pondza added 6 on 3-8 from the floor, 14 boards and 2 assists. Mackenzie Ash-Smith scored 4 on 2-4 from the floor and 3 boards. Kenya Côté-Lysius added 3 on 0-5 from the floor, 1-4 from the arc and 2 boards. Donna Ntambue added 3 on 0-3 from the floor and 2-2 from the line. Grace Koffi scored 2 on 0-3 from the floor, 2-2 from the line and 2 boards, while Kamelya Brodeur, Jenny Alexis, Lea-Sophie Verret and Marie-Laetitia Ziba were scoreless. Quebec hit 28-80 (.350) overall, 20-53 (.380) from the floor, 8-27 (.300) from the arc and 6-8 from the line, while garnering 48 boards, including 31 on the offensive glass, 17 assists, 20 turnovers, 6 steals, 1 block and 10 fouls. Julia Chadwick paced Ontario with 13 on 6-6 from the floor, 0-1 from the arc, 1-2 from the line, 5 boards and 3 assists. Mide Oriyomi added 9 on 3-6 from the floor, 1-3 from the arc and 6 boards. Christina Morra added 8 on 4-9 from the floor, 10 boards and 2 assists. Makayla Ennis scored 6 on 2-2 from the floor and 2-2 from the line. Kylee O’Hara added 5 on 1-2 from the floor, 1-4 from the arc and 3 boards. Aerial Wilson added 5 on 1-3 from the floor, 1-4 from the arc, 2 boards and 3 assists. Keishana Washington scored 4 on 2-2 from the floor, 4 assists and 2 steals. Xianna Josephs added 4 on 1-3 from the floor, 2-2 from the line and 2 boards. Taylor Featherstone scored 3 on 1-1 from the arc, while Kallie Hall, Laura Donovan and Keahna Riley were scoreless. Ontario hit 24-51 (.470) overall, 20-35 (.570) from the floor, 4-16 from the arc and 5-6 (.830) from the line, while garnering 32 boards, including 10 on the offensive glass, 15 assists, 26 turnovers, 4 steals, 1 block and 11 fouls.
