Dave Turcotte and Cordell Llewellyn each scored 18 points as Canada came up with a strong, beating Uruguay 102-86 at the world basketball championship qualification tournament in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Canada has an automatic entry into next year’s championships in Toronto, but is taking part for a good seeding.

Argentina defeated Canada 93-83. Kory Hallas led Canada with 22.

Canada defeated Puerto Rico 79-76. Dave Turcotte led Canada with 23.

Canada nipped Cuba 91-90 as Will Njoku nailed a trey at the buzzer. Kory Hallas led Canada with 20.

The U.S. stomped Canada 87-73. Wilson led Canada with 15.
