In the round of 16, Spain stomped Canada 87-63. Canada exploded to a 10-0 lead on aggressive takes off the dribble and led 12-2 when Spain bridged the quarters with a 32-2 run by capitalizing on lax Canadian defensive transitions, savvy ball movement, solid marksmanship from the perimeter, countless runouts, utter dominance of the boards and clever entry passes into the post. Canada opened the second half with a 15-4 run featuring treys from Hudson Ward and Mikkel Tyne to draw within 51-43.
