In the final, the Whitehorse Porter Creek Rams defeated the Whitehorse Vanier Catholic Secondary Crusaders 86-74 as Sina Kazemi scored 22 and Zack Carey 22. Rams coach Logan Wedge told the Yukon News that Zach Carey dominated. “He scored a lot, rebounded, he can do a bit of everything.” The Rams broke open the game late in the fourth quarter as Sina Kazemi hit a series of treys. “We wanted it more,” said tournament MVP Zach Carey. “We knew they’d come out fired up, we knew that we were up against a tough team, but we just wanted it.” Wedge said Vanier coach Sean McCarron had a great game plan. “It’s not a difference in coaching. If you’ve got better players, you win, and tonight we had better players. They couldn’t match up against us. … When we were down, Sina was our go-to-guy. He shot us back into the game. He was real clutch. … A lot of these guys might not get off the bench but they push our starting guys in practice to play better. They were really great about it all year, didn’t whine. They’re very mature. I’d rather lose and play well than win and play the opposite. We played with heart and skill. We didn’t give up. I’m really proud of our guys.” The Rams finished 18-2 on the campaign.
