In the semis, held in Prince Albert, the top-seeded Regina Christian Grizzlies spanked the 4th-seeded Dalmeny Cougars 70-46 after leading 37-22 at the half. Brooklyn Martens paced the Grizzlies with 20. Emily Budd led the Cougars with 17.
In the other semi, the 3rd-seeded Caronport Cougars dumped the 2nd-seeded Lumsden Angels 57-46 after leading 30-23 at the half. Haley Hiebert paced the Cougars with 12. Sarah Beatty lead the Angels with 11.
In the bronze medal match, the 2nd-seeded Lumsden Angels edged the 4th-seeded Dalmeny Cougars 66-61. The Cougars broke to a 10-0 lead and led 20-9 after one quarter. But the Angels rallied to knot the score at 29 at the half. The Angels opened the third quarter with an 8-0 run but the Cougars rallied to take a 49-46 lead after three quarters. The Angels ripped off a decisive 13-1 run early in the final quarter to take command. Sarah Beatty led the Angels with 21. Emily Budd paced the Cougars with 22. In the final, the top-seeded Regina Christian Grizzlies defeated the 3rd-seeded Caronport Cougars 72-60 after leading 47-26 at the half. Rachelle Kinele led the Cougars with 13. The Grizzlies broke to a 12-0 lead and were never threatened. Cougars assistant Dwight Olney told the Moose Jaw Times Herald that “we were very pleased with how hard the girls worked, the seniors in particular really stepped up in the final game. Regina Christian is a very fine team, they’re basically a juggernaut and we worked hard, we got in a bit of a hole at the beginning, but played even with them for the rest of the game. The girls battled hard.”
