The 5th-seeded Kamsack Spartans edged the Assiniboia Rockets 51-48 as Kaitlyn Placatka scored 15. Amy Cook led the Rockets with 11. The Rockets also included Alexa Wandler.
The Caronport Cougars stomped the Prince Albert Rivier Academy Guardians 97-33.
In the last quarterfinal, the Clavet Cougars whipped the Outlook Blues 97-39. Cougars coach Chad Williams told the Clark’s Crossing Gazette that “we came out strong. Outlook was a good opponent, but we executed well and came out with a win.” Ayla Brecknell and Jill Ehman dominated the floor, added the rookie coach. “I think any time you come in to coach a new team, especially a team that has had previous success, everyone is skeptical and feeling each other out,” said Williams. “We have both adjusted to each other and so far, it has worked out. … Offence will come but if you can stop them first and foremost that is the most important thing.” The Blues included Justine Larson.
In the semis, the Indian Head Broncs whipped the Kamsack Spartans 76-40 as Carly Miller scored 12.
In the other semi, the Caronport Cougars dispatched the Clavet Cougars 66-51 after leading 24-7, 35-20 and 48-37 at the quarters. Emilie Peters paced the Cougars with 16.
In the bronze medal match, the Clavet Cougars defeated the Kamsack Spartans 50-43.
In the final, the Caronport Cougars edged the Indian Head Broncos 64-60.
