You hope that pays off and it did.” Hounds coach Wayne Morrison said “we’re a young team. All year, we’ve been plagued by dry spells and that was part of our problem. They [Melfort] shot very well once they got going. We were kind of happy to be here. We didn’t really expect to get here.” Comets post Erin Harder said “last year, we lost our first game. We wanted to win this one.” Hounds guard Caroline Hall did not play as she was competing at the Canadian women’s hockey championships.

It’s how we got here. We didn’t change that. We just play tough. Our whole team attitude was to play aggressive. We wanted it and went out and got it.” Adams added that “we just said ‘this is our game and we want it more’. We went out and did that.
