In the provincial semis, the Moose Jaw A.E. Peacock Toilers bombed the North Battleford John Paul II Crusaders 89-46 as Lori Johnstone scored 24 and Jessica Rozdeba 22. Bonnie Graw led the Crusaders with 17. Nicole Vany added 9.
In the other semi, the Weyburn Eagles whipped the Meadow Lake Carpenter Spartanettes 54-35 as Jessica Dunne scored 24 and Stacey Parson 10. Natalie Lukiw led the Spartanettes with 11.
In the bronze medal match, the North Battleford John Paul II Crusaders defeated the Meadow Lake Carpenter Spartanettes 47-42 as Bonnie Graw scored 25 and Kirsten Wandler 11. Cheryl Homstol paced the Spartanettes with 10. The Spartanettes also included Lisa Oleksyn, Natalie Lukiw.
In the final, the Moose Jaw A.E. Peacock Toilers nipped the Weyburn Eagles 47-45 as Jessica Rozdeba scored 16, Lori Johnstone 9, Carla Coulson 9 and Tanis Mohr 9. Natasha Hala led the Eagles with 18. Lauri Milleker added 10. Toilers coach Mark Albert told the Regina Leader-post that “team balance was the key. Most teams have about two or three key players but we have five starters who all play good defence and can all score.” Albert told the Saskatoon Star-Phoenix “my girls were all a little nervous. Being the number one team (ranked) sometimes works to your disadvantage.” Halla hit a bucket to give the Eagles a 45-44 lead. But that was the last field goal they scored. Lori Johnstone hit a bucket for the Toilers and Rozdeba a free throw as Peacock pulled out the win.
